Reader comment on: How Liberal Democrats who Support Israel Might Think about the Election

I'm surprised that Prof. Dershowitz is still using the term "occupation", "West Bank" and refers only to the "West" side of Jerusalem.

For years I have been wondering and writing about: why is there no Israeli nor Jewish international lawyer/s or Jewish law firm/s that will take the issue of "occupation" to a legal court in the US or Geneva and sue the UN for failing to fulfill its obligations under it own Charters?

Maybe Justice Edmond Levy's Report is the basis for such action. I'm not a lawyer, but as a laymen, all that is required from anyone with a bit of common sense is to read the following international documents to reach the same conclusions as the Commission led by his honorable Justice Levy.

During the course of recent history, the Jewish people have received documents and signed several agreements with prominent leaders, countries and international organizations.

A very significant historical and legal viewpoint regards Israel's presence in the West Bank areas of Judea and Samaria as emanating from the historical rights granted in Palestine to the Jewish people by the Balfour Declaration and affirmed by resolution of the League of Nations in 1922, granting to the Jewish people a national home in all parts of Mandatory Palestine and enabling "close settlement on the land."
