Inquiry: the Original Reason for the UN?
Reader comment on: The UN Declares War on Judeo-Christian Civilization

When constitutional protection extends to and affords all religions guarantees of religious freedom, what happens when one or more of these religions exploits this right at the expense of the rights of secularists? Moreover, if UN leaders refuse to recognize the rights of secularists as well as the right of religions to exist, and instead selectively screen out those religions and perspectives that fail to fit their current agenda, has the UN then strayed far afield from its original raison d'etre?
What responsibility does the UN have to the world other than demonstrating its unwillingness to regard the perspectives held by traditionalists as well as those held by progressives with equal consideration? Indeed, as Mr. Meotti has pointed out, the world did not begin with the institution of Islam.
