Reader comment on: Nomination for Nobel Peace Prize: Reverend Gavin Ashenden
Submitted by Mark Anderson, Jan 25, 2017 13:08
Thanks for publishing this excellent article. It is indeed refreshing to see an Anglican minister stand up and say what is plainly obvious about Islam and the appeasement of Islam and Islamists in western societies.
If I had a vote on who becomes the next Archbishop of Canterbury, my vote would go to Reverend Gavin Ashenden.
I'm also very dismayed at the Royal Household for forcing Reverend Gavin Ashenden's resignation as Queen's Chaplain. After doing this, the Queen can no longer call herself Defender of the Faith, unless by "the Faith" it means Islam.
I'm Canadian and, until this incident, I supported the idea of the monarchy as a stabilizing force in Canadian society. But if this is where the monarchy is heading, perhaps it's time to start thinking of a republic.
