Twisted

Reader comment on: The French Inquisition

Submitted by Ernst Hall, Feb 4, 2017 07:21

A society is truly twisted when the most obvious truth is not legal to speak. Any society that lies to itself is doomed to soon fail. Much of the Christian West is today in the category. If we do not redevelop a love of truth and justice (and real justice can only follow truth, not lies), we will fail, rotting from the core, and cease to exist as a society. One of the great things about the United States when it was created was the honesty of its founders. Not everything they addressed is deemed acceptable today, but no one can fault them for their honesty. We are losing that, or have already completely lost that orientation toward honesty. It is now more important to not hurt someone's feelings than to be honest. This social weakness seems a sure sign of impending failure.
