If anything goes wrong, "blame the Jews."

This anti-Semitic view of the world has lasted for the last two millennium, and it seems that the Catholic hierarchy seems to be planning the race card once again in their view, especially in those of Cardinal Oscar Andres Rodriguez Maradiaga. To him, the Jewish people are the incarnation of the antichrist and the cause of all the world's problems.

How a bigoted racist could rise to such an esteem position within the Church is unbelievable.. to blame the Jewish people for the sick, deprived, and predatory actions of many Catholic clergy around the world on young children is a lie beyond all known reason and thought. The Church led ten of thousands of Jews to be killed from the days of Rome, the Inquisition, and through turning a blind on Hitler and his death camps.. I pray to God that this evil man is never considered for the Head of the Church.

Under the circumstances, the U.S. would do better to tell the Palestinians there is no deal to be had unless they -- both the Fatah and Hamas -- demonstrably accommodate the reality that Israel is a legitimate, permanent part of the region.
