Kamal Yazigi

Kamal Yazigi studied at the University of Paris-Sorbonne where he obtained a Ph.D. in Philosophy in 1989.

From 1986 to 2005, he was Professor of Political Science & International Affairs at the Lebanese American University, where he also chaired the Education & Social Science Division. He also lectured in Political Science, International Relations, and Philosophy at the American University of Beirut and La Sagesse University.

He also served as a consultant to public officials and organizations. He has commented on Lebanese and Middle Eastern politics for TV channels and radio stations, and contributed articles for the press and for various periodicals.

Kamal Yazigi is one of the founders of Lebanon's Free Patriotic Movement (FPM), in which he held many leading responsibilities. For a long time one of the major figures of the opposition within the FPM, he finally withdrew and joined the Secretariat General of the March 14 movement.
