Submitted by Dana Mathewson, Apr 7, 2009 11:18 If this deal is to work, the cars Fiat brings to this country will have to be much better than the ones they were making back in the 1970's. Back then, a woman with whom I worked in Buffalo, NY, was dating a salesman from a Fiat dealership in Toronto, ON. The distance between these towns is in the neighborhood of seventy miles, give or take a few. When he came to Buffalo to visit my friend, he would drive anything but a Fiat -- not even a brand-new one -- saying that he couldn't trust one to get him through the trip without breaking down.
