Reader comment on: Bluff and Blackmail Submitted by Freedom Now, Mar 13, 2009 07:20 When you boil this situation down to what each party wants and what is each party willing to give... it gets interesting. We want Iran to stop their attempts to build a nuclear bomb, stop formenting violence in Iraq/Lebanon/Palestine and stop their cult of anti-Americanism (Death to America, etc...) Iran wants us militarily and politically out of Iraq/Afghanistan/ME-N. Africa, they want us to stop supporting Israel, and to stop blocking them from developing a nuclear weapon. There is no U.S. President that will cede any of these points to Iran. That leaves us with bribery and it stinks of the situation with North Korea, a relationship in which they milk us as much as they can. Keep in mind that now that the Administration has announced that it is time to negotiate with Iran, it must produce results.
