We are too politically correct

Reader comment on: Britain Ruled by Political Correctness

"In Kent, a Christian doctor is fighting for his job after he told a suicidal patient that Christianity may offer help...The GMC, which allows doctors to promote the healing effects of homoeopathy, chiropractic and reiki, also known as palm healing -- all of which are unsupported by Western, evidence-based medicine but are backed by belief systems -- has banned the mention of faith and prayer in a consultation."

The political correctness has gone too far to actually allow the promotion of any of the above medical practices. If a doctor consistently gave patients placebos over real medicines despite them continuously asking for effective medicines, they would lose their jobs instantly. Why is using homoeopathy (essentially a ludicrously expensive placebo) any different? The government is just too politically correct to use evidence as a basis for decisions.
