Reader comment on: Hamas' Phony Statistics on Civilian Deaths
Submitted by Creole, Aug 7, 2014 18:30
Simply because it shocks by contrast: compare the mind who wrote this to the mind of an average opinion maker especially of the journalistic kind, whose breezy attitude, adolescent smugness, not to mention being at all times AWOL from passable cognitive functioning has practically taken over the public way of thinking on these matters. This is a mind that clarifies the murky waters lurking behind the blinding clarity of the "X Palestinian civilians dead" meme, while practically everybody else - including some well-intentioned lost souls - functions as meme replicator. The horribly depressing reading of opinion makers (including someone designated, God help us, as "human rights practitioner" over at HuffPost) of the recent period makes it clear that the days of journalism as complexity probing are over. At least as far as Israel vs. Hamas are concerned.
