My family perished in the holocaust of WWII. There are STILL holocausts taking happening. Just the names and places have been changed.
Speech that harms others or leads to their harm is not something we can condone. Most minorities come from repressive environments and are trying to have a chance to be good citizens. They know that you are directing your negativity is about the country they went to great lengths to escape. They agree that the leaders in their former home aren't good, however they are not the leaders. Prejudice against those who are suffering is intolerable and speech from that angle should be forbidden. It not only hurts those who are targeted but also harms the society as a whole by eating away at its cohesiveness. The final result is cruelty and ethnic cleansing. We need to elevate humanity-not bring it down by bullying speech and profiling individuals. There are good and bad in each of our societies, families and selves. We need to focus and ENCOURAGE the good side. Do you agree?
